Celts Stun Heat in Double OT

Jeff Green dunks on Chris Bosh in Sunday's game
Sunday usually is the day that we talk about football but this week Sunday was a day of great basketball. The Boston Celtics played host to the Miami Heat on ABC, where they defeated Miami in a very closely contested double overtime game, 100-98. Lebron James played very well in the loss as he recorded 34 points, 16 rebounds, and seven assists. Kevin Garnett led the way for the Celtics with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Paul Pierce recorded a triple double for the Celtics as he scored 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists. This game was Ray Allen's first trip back to the TD Garden, and he was greeted with a standing ovation during a video over the scoreboard, but when it came to game time he received many boos each time he touched the basketball. Allen scored 21 points for Miami in the game.

Jeff Green had a good game for the Celtics as well, as he had a monster jam over Chris Bosh.

Super Bowl XLVII

The time has come, Super Bowl 47 will be held in New Orleans next Sunday

It's finally here. Time to gather up a bunch of friends and snacks and sit down and enjoy the Super Bowl. This year the San Francisco 49ers will face off against the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens led by Ray Lewis and Joe Flacco, beat Indianapolis, Denver, and New England to get here, while the 49ers defeated the Packers and Falcons.

This game should be a good one as the Ravens somehow found a way to get here. I never would have picked the Ravens to be in the Super Bowl. They somehow got by Denver, who was the team to beat in the AFC, and they also knocked off a very good New England team. That is no big loss because it is nice to see Tom Brady watching the game from home for once. That slide you did was cheap Brady, you deserved every bit of that fine. Anyway, The Ravens put together an incredible run, and Joe Flacco has been amazing in this postseason as he has yet to throw an interception. Flacco has thrown for 853 yards to go along with his eight touchdowns this postseason. Ray Lewis has also motivated the Ravens in their journey to New Orleans as he announced that this will be his last season in the NFL.

For the 49ers, ever since Collin Kaepernick took over this team he added a whole new element to this team, that being the option run. Kaepernick tore apart the Packers in the Divisional Round, running for a quarterback single game record--postseason or regular--with 181 rushing yards, and two touchdowns on the ground. Kaepernick also accounted for 263 yards and two scores in the air against the Packers as well. The 49ers depend on their power running game, and Kaepernick can definitely sling it as well. This team plays wonderful defense, as do the Ravens, but if I had to pick a defense I would give the 49ers the upper hand.

Prediction: The 49ers are 5-0 in Super Bowls, and I see them taking Super Bowl 47, 24-13.

NFC Divisional Playoffs

Michael Robinson quiets the crowd in Washington in Seattle's wild card victory

The playoff race is really heating up, and this weekend we will be one step closer to finding out who will be playing in Super Bowl 47. The two NFC match-ups should be entertaining as Seattle travels to Atlanta, and Green Bay travels to San Francisco.

Seahawks at Falcons:
Matt Ryan has never won a playoff game, 0-3 so far as a starter, and this season Atlanta is hungrier than ever. That being said can they stop the Seahawks? Marshawn Lynch is a tank, and when he is at his best he is an unstoppable running back. Lynch ran for 132 yards on 20 carries last week, and also scored a touchdown in the 24-14 Seattle victory. Seattle lost defensive end Chris Clemons which may hurt Seattle's run defense, but I look for Atlanta to struggle. The Falcons are an impressive 7-1 at home, while Seattle is 3-5 on the road, but Matt Ryan will have another tough game as the Seahawks will move on to the NFC Championship game, beating Atlanta 35-24.

Packers at 49ers:
Collin Kaepernick will get his first playoff start this weekend as the Niners will play host to the Packers. The Packers looked pretty impressive last week against the Vikings, and the Niners are looking to come out strong after having a bye week to prepare. Aaron Rodgers looked good last week as he threw for 274 yards in their win over the Vikings, who were without their starting quarterback Christian Ponder. The Niners have a strong defense with a strong front seven that features Patrick Willis, Navarro Bowman, and Aldon Smith. This pass rush should do a great job of getting after Rodgers and rattling him, but the Packers have been there before. The 49ers choked last year in the NFC Championship, and I just think Green Bay looks as good as they were the year they won it all. Green Bay wins a tightly contested game, 21-16.

This means that the Seahawks will travel to Green Bay for the NFC Championship, if my predictions pan out. We will just have to wait and see.

Tajh Boyd To Return For Senior Season

Tajh Boyd to Return to Clemson Next Season
Clemson fans rejoice! Tajh Boyd decided to return to the Clemson for his senior year in order to better prepare himself for the 2014 NFL Draft. Boyd believes that staying is his best option to mold himself into a first round draft pick. Boyd is a machine, as he has thrown for 8,053 yards and 73 scores in his three seasons at Clemson. Boyd holds 39 records at Clemson, and he makes this team that much better. Though he is infamous for one of his bad plays at the university.

Despite this awful play that he would love to forget, I must say that Tajh Boyd is a great quarterback, and Clemson fans should be happy as this team could be a legitimate contender next season.

The Tide Rolls Notre Dame, Wins Back to Back BCS Titles

Alabama running back Eddie Lacy ran all over Notre Dame to win the National Championship

The college football season has finally come to an end. The Crimson Tide of Alabama squared off against Notre Dame in Miami on Monday night, both teams knowing that the winner would be the champions of the college football world. I'm not even sure that Notre Dame got off the bus, as the Tide rolled Notre Dame, 42-14.

Alabama completely dominated this game and it was over after Alabama's opening possession. Alabama marched right down the field and running back Eddie Lacy scored on a 20-yard run to start the game off 7-0 in favor of Alabama, and Alabama never looked back. The game was so much of a laugher that the commentators began making remarks of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron's girlfriend, who was in the stands spectating. With the victory Alabama won their third national championship in the last four years, and showed why they deserve to be considered a dynasty.

Notre Dame never had a chance in this game, simply because they were over rated, and just not big enough, not fast enough, and not strong enough to take on this Alabama team. The Crimson Tide dominated in every aspect of the game, and it really shows that Notre Dame was just over matched in this game. If you take a look back at their schedule, I always look at the Pittsburgh game where they won in triple overtime. Yes, it took them triple overtime, not to mention some really bad calls by the officials in the favor of Notre Dame for them to defeat the 6-7 Pittsburgh team who really should not have been playing in a bowl game. I guess you can call it the "luck of the Irish." Their luck ran out on Monday, as they were embarrassed by Alabama.

The Crimson Tide are the 2012 National Champions!
