Bears Quarterback Jay Cutler being taken down by #90 Ndamukong Suh |
Monday Night Football this week was a strong defensive effort by both teams. The 2-3 Detroit Lions were over matched by the 4-1 Chicago Bears defense. The Lions mustered only a touchdown against the strong Chicago defense. Every time the Lions were putting together a good drive, It was quickly ended by a turnover. Twice the Lions had 12 play drives that both times ended up in turnovers. The first drive ended on a fumble, and the second was an interception that ended an 85 yard drive. The Bears offense wasn't elite in this game but the defense was, and that was all the Bears needed to win this game 13-7.
There was some controversy on the hit that Jay Cutler took from Ndamukong Suh in this game as he was slammed hard into the turf after being sacked by the Lions defensive lineman. It was a legal hit, but some people feel that Cutler was hit harder than what was necessary. Jay Cutler is a tough player and played the rest of this game after the hit, and he will be undergoing tests during the week to make sure he can play next week but he expects to play. The Lions fell to 2-4 on the loss, the Bears improved to 5-1 on the win.
